Hazell’s Streamline Green Star 1936

Introduced in 1936, the Hazell’s Green Star formed part of the company’s Streamline range of triple-shaft rackets. Distinguished by its green finish, it was marketed alongside other Streamline variants, including the Red Star, Blue Star and White Star. The Streamline design became closely associated with British player Henry Wilfred “Bunny” Austin, who actively promoted the racket during the 1930s. In 1936 Austin reached the Wimbledon semi-finals, where he was defeated by Gottfried von Cramm in four sets. The Green Star therefore represents one of the best-known variants of Hazell’s distinctive Streamline series during the pre-war period.
